Dreaming of You Published to Spotify and SoundCloud!

The dance groove in this track is very compelling!  Originally in the unreleased Stratman Unplugged series written in 2020, this track was initially called Strat Solo No 2. Album cover credit goes to Kellepics on Pixabay.

Here's a short clip from the track:

I went thru 6 versions on this track.  I had an "alto" part that I ended up dropping.  On this version, the bass and guitar make up the bulk of the background accompaniment.  The drums have added compression.  I had to quantize the piano, which is playing off-beat "spikes"  at 1/16th and the bass at 1/8th.  Off-beat just does not work unless the rhythms are precise.  The original Stratocaster lead was recorded at 85bpm but this final is at 110bpm.  There was quite a bit of "midi" cleanup on the solo, also quantized at 1/16th.  Each time I work thru an sound engineering session, I find new processes to do that improve the overall EQ and volume of each instrument.

New Track Out! Feeling My Way Check it out!

  Feeling My Way (Spotify) I am "Feeling My Way" into a new process to create music.  This track is the start of a new vocal to instrumental series.   This track started as a Strat guitar with voice improvisation. Later the voice impro was converted into a Strat guitar lead.  Next the guitar audio creates a chord track which then runs an automated rhythm guitar accompaniment.  The string part came later as an improvised counter harmony.

@billjonesmusicstudio now on Instagram!

  I've setup an account on Instagram  @billjonesmusicstudio It was a learning experience on getting a decent product to the platform.  I started the account with daily improvises, called the Video Jam Series. I also modified some YouTube videos to run on the platform.  Currently, I am working on a new method of creating music using improvised voice and guitar/keyboard.  My experiment with Instagram Reels went well, with one posting spinning up 1,200 plays.      The Video Jam Series shot live guitar and keyboard improvises.  Some jam motifs are worked out a few minutes before.  The goal is to capture improvised music.  Then, after initial recording of audio on both iPhone and Cubase DAW, the audio is processed.    Processing can include: Adding complementary instruments Adding EQ, compression, guitar amps, normalization, tempo detection, midi note editing   Importing video to Cubase, lining up audio files, exporting video with processed audio   Video is converted to the Instagram &q

NEW RELEASE! Acoustic Guitar Solos by HatchBatch

For about the last 8 months, especially during pre-vaccine COVID-19 days, I have been recording acoustic guitar.  Some of the tracks in this release originated from several video series on Instagram.  Others were final versions of tracks written earlier in 2020.  Most tracks are missing drums and the volume is set fairly low.  This makes for "easy listening" and a very relaxing 1/2 hour of music (16 songs, 28 min 42 sec).
