Album Overview - Let's Dance by HatchBatch
12/30/2022
Title: Dreaming of You
Track: 01
Comment: The dance groove in this track is very compelling! Originally in the unreleased Stratman Unplugged series written in 2020, this track was initially called Strat Solo No 2.
Title: I Don't Know
Track: 02
Comment: I asked myself, what’s a good name for this track. I guess you get what you asked for …. ha. Another creation ("Hatch") that started as a guitar/voice improvises.
Title: Get Up (Dance Version)
Track: 03
Comment: Get Up, originally released back in 2019, is all "danced up". Features Stratocaster solo and lots of brass!
Title: Don't Be Shy
Track: 04
Comment: Written back in 2020, this track was inspired by a viewing of Big Fish in concert. The original Stratocaster lead was converted from audio to midi, cleaned up in Cubase Score, and then converted back to audio. It's a fast 2/4 cut time with a triplet on the quarter note. Thus, normally called a swing, in 2/4. Keyboard plays on the 1/2 beat most of the time. The strings are accented on verse but pad on the chorus. What can I say, the drums are hot! A dance track.
Title: Feeling My Way
Track: 05
Comment: I am "Feeling My Way" into a new process to create music. This track is the start of a new vocal to instrumental series. This track started as a Strat guitar with voice improvisation. Later the voice impro was converted into a strat guitar lead. Next the guitar audio creates a chord track which then runs an automated rhythm guitar accompaniment. The string part came later as an improvised counter harmony.
Title: I Don't Know You
Track: 06
Comment: I Don't Know You was written in 2020 and part of a "to be released" album titled "Stratman Unplugged". The original track was a live Stratocaster lead, but at a much slower tempo. This new version is much more danceable!
Title: Long Time (Dance Version)
Track: 07
Comment: Originally released on the Album "All Torn Up" in 2020, "Long Time" is a blues funk track in cut time. This "Dance Version" is faster with more drums/bass and new soloists.
Title: Only You
Track: 08
Comment: This is my first "slow song" dance track. The rock organ and heavy bass keep this track perky but the melody is pure soft jazz guitar. Because slow dancing was the only thing I knew how to do, the title popped into my head very quickly ha! So, get up and slowly dance with the love in your life.
Title: Trees (Dance Version)
Track: 09
Comment: The idea is to take prior releases and make them danceable.... Trees was written in 2018 and first released in 2019. This update was done in 2022.
Title: Don't Give Up
Track: 10
Comment: Folk-rock track, initially written in 2020, turned into a dance track.
